Fitness Equipment Rearranging |
Many of our regular users have noticed there has been some fitness equipment rearranging going on throughout the SRC. While this move has been thoroughly thought out, there will always be some confusion and concern regarding the locations of the existing equipment. We completely understand the confusion and potential disappointment this may cause some of our long-standing members, but in the long-term, we feel that this is the best move for our facility. Please understand that absolutely no equipment has been eliminated, it has simply been moved to another area.
There are three main reasons for the equipment rearrangement. In no particular order, they are: 1. The SRC is undergoing a bit of a facelift over the course of this summer. This includes new signage, new equipment in all areas of the Rec, renaming some of the existing areas/rooms, and a brighter, fresher appearance. Moving some of the fitness equipment is a necessity in regards to this. 2. Creating additional space and easily navigated traffic areas in the weight rooms in order to mitigate overcrowding during peak times. Again, in order to create additional space and traffic patterns in the weight rooms, some equipment needed to be relocated. As part of this, we will be able to relocate some of the equipment that is currently in the hallways by Base Camp and put it where it properly belongs. 3. Purchasing of new equipment. There are numerous pieces of equipment that have been ordered, both cardio and strength, and we need a place to put it. New squat racks, in addition to the existing racks, can now be placed in the Saluki Strength Room with the space that has been created.
Again, the rearrangement of the fitness equipment is necessary so that we can bring the SRC into the 21st century. While this may cause some short-term issues, we feel that in the long run we will all benefit. As always, your comments and questions are welcome. Thanks for your understanding and your patience while we make these changes. |
